Last Day

Today is the Last Day of Mr. W with his old company. Many people said that I was so great to support him on his decision. Actually, I think the decision to quit is much more difficult than what I did just to support him. When you think about the high opportunity cost, the burden and the responsibilities, you will know how hard to make the decision to quit the job.

p.s. Resignation at Mr. W's company is so "e" - you can just click a button and fill in 2 simple fields at a system to trigger the process. I did help him to press the button as I "pretended" I was doing for myself. Amazing at the technology?! but it's a bit cold...

Sharp Island

After a few days of noisy holidays, it's time for me to take a break. Every time, when I walked along the seaside at Sai Kung, some people always try to sell me for a boat ride to some near islands. Today, Mr. W and I decided to take a boat to the Sharp Island " 橋咀島".

I haven't been to Sharp Island before. It's quite small but definitely quiet. There was a BBQ area in which only one group of people was having fun. That's cool as you can nearly occupy the whole place for BBQ!

When we arrived there, I guessed it's at low tide as I could see a "sand bridge" to another small island. I tried to cross the sand bridge to look for some lovely fishes (e.g. Nemo?) and maybe coral which is a so-called selling point that attracts me to be here. However, when I was at two-third of my way to another side, the tide was coming over from both side of the sea. We had to return, otherwise, would probably get wet. Thus, I missed the "selling point" and may need to come again though really got nothing to do here.

Christmas BBQ

聖誕節的活動通常以食為大前提，今個聖誕就去了白石BBQ。聞說燒乳豬很好吃，今次終於有機會了，果真名不虛傳，一定要試。

註：決定明年跟家人和親戚朋友再去燒乳豬，即是幾天後... yummy!!!

又到聖誕

今晚我們 Lady's Club 舉行了一年一度的 Christmas Party 暨 Dec Birthday Party。(其實這個 Club 還沒有一個正式的名堂，先讓我想想，經過 Club CEO 的 Approval，再告訴大家。)

節目豐富包括有外賣晚餐，board game，Xmas Cake，交換禮物，及最後的幸運大抽獎。最好的環節莫過於能分辨各人對圖畫的理解及表達能力的 Pictionary 遊戲，值得推介。

正所謂三個女人一個墟，這晚剛好有三個墟，當我們在玩 Pictionary 正進入瘋狂狀態時，聽到有人按門鐘，不用開門就知道是 security 叔叔，可想而知“三個墟” 的威力真不少。

六年後的上海

六年前曾經留在上海約大半年，今天從臨舊地，另有一番感受。

• 淮海路依然很繁榮，比以前更商業化
• 外灘沒什改變，對面的浦東卻多了很多高樓大廈。（有一個像極縮水版的香港會議展覽中心新翼在對岸）
• 食店的價格跟得上香港
• 更多外國人在這裡
• 地鐵路綫多了幾條
• ...

我這幾天的節目安排如下:

12/08 (Thu)：
晚上到以前舊同事的家裏吃飯，跟兩個舊朋友懷緬一下過去。

12/10 (Sat)：
白天從酒店（南京西路）走路到外灘看看，晚上朋友帶我去花園飯店旁的“蘇浙會”吃晚飯。

12/11 (Sun)：
早上去跑步，下午到朋友的大屋參觀，然後到她家附近很地道的小餐館吃水餃+炸醬麵。最後到她朋友的Studio參觀，蠻有特色的，是個非常有“Feel”的好地方。

注: 今次是來公幹，不是來旅遊的。

這個 loop 到什麽時候會停呢?

我是蠻 positive 的，但始終要面對現實，最後可能會是這樣的...

p.s.：short term 的期望是明天晚上跟 "同鄉" 的同事在北京的飯局。

北京零下六度

一出機場，冷風撲面而來。羽絨及毛毛頸巾都有齊，最失敗是沒有帶手套。在的士站等了約十分鐘，身體還可以，但雙手好像放了進冰箱一樣!

另：因沒時間，只在香港機場兌換人民幣，兌換率是 0.987。對，沒錯，是少於1，所以只兌換了200 人民幣。

蒜蓉蜆肉意粉

我本身對 cooking 的興趣不大，因覺得比較浪費時間，要我煮飯基本上沒問題，味道一般吧。

今天去逛 city'super，那兒有些印刷精美的 Recipe 免費取閱，找到一款我很喜歡的菜式 -- 蒜蓉蜆肉意粉，去 Pepperonis 通常一定吃的。結果買了所需的材料，準備今晚下廚，另買了一些生蠔試試 ($15 each) 。

一切準備就緒，跟著 Recipe step by step 的做，出來的賣相不錯，味道都幾好，Mr. W 也說 ok 呢。但其實有點失誤，就是因爲按住這張 Recipe 一步一步做，結果“出事”了。

1. Wash the clams in plenty of running water until not a trace of sand is left.
2. Drain well, put them in a heavy-based saucepan over high heat. Cover with lid and shake the pan until the clams have opened.
3. Strain off the liquid and fine sieve it, reserve to use.
4. Heat the olive oil with garlic and chilli gently in saucepan. Discard the garlic and chilli when it turns golden.
5. Add the clams to the pan, together with their strained cooking liquid.
6. Add parsley and cooked gently for a minute to two for the flavours to blend.
7. Add the clams to the freshly cooked spaghetti and mix well, sprinkle pepper, parsley and olive oil on to serve.

請留意 Step 3 "Strain off the liquid and fine sieve it, reserve to use"，我當然“好醒地” 把煮熟的蜆從 pan 倒出來，篩走多餘的水，把那些蜆留著備用。

到後來的 Step 5 "Add the clams to the pan, together with their strained cooking liquid"，就“知衰”，才知道剛才的水就是所謂的 clam sauce 了，所以這道我第一次作的蒜蓉蜆肉意粉略為“乾身”了少許，下次必定看完整張 Recipe 才動手。

$19.9 一個籃球

昨天中午經過 Toys‘R’us，竟發現最平宜的籃球只賣 $19.9 一個，跟我上回買的足足差五倍。

某人說玩五次就抵番喎... 什麽理論?!

Lost the 2nd Nemo

When I came back home tonight, I noticed that there was some "salt" on the outer glass of my fish tank. Looked on the floor immediately to search for any "body", as I thought that a fish may have been jumped out from the tank again. Finally, I found my 2nd Nemo which was dried already. :<

p.s. My 1st Nemo jumped out from the tank around a month ago, and now lost the 2nd one.

失望而回

準備好行裝，滿心歡喜地出發，經過了一排排的村屋，差不多找到了上山的路口，就看到這個警告牌，因擔心真的有惡狗，所以只好回去吃下午茶，下次決定帶備 "武器" 再來。

雖然失望而回，卻在路上竟看到一棵楊桃樹，香蕉樹及木瓜樹通常隨處可見，我也是第一次見到楊桃樹呢！

今天天氣真好

從窗外望，陽光充沛，在這開始微涼的天氣下，只覺得很暖和。想跟 Mr. W 到外面走走，享受陽光。但他不肯，推說黃昏時要練跑。只好把相片 post 到這裡，給大家欣賞。

後記：Mr. W 知道我要在這兒寫東西，怕我亂寫，所以跟我說還是到對面山走走吧! 哈哈...

Having a conference call just now, which is started at 7am !!!

I made myself sitting up to join the call, but apparently my eyes, ears and mouth are still in sleeping mode.

These photos were taken 2 weeks ago at Shatin. I guess it should be a very old building telling from those "瓦片" on the roof. I think it's at least older than me.
